2ND FRIDAY SOCIAL DANCE

AT THE PLAZA ARTS CENTER

Come join us for the Second Friday Dance held every second Friday of the month at the beautiful Plaza Arts Center in old downtown Carrollton.

A group lesson begins at 7pm. Dance music consisting of Latin, Ballroom, Swing and Salsa will begin at 8PM. $10 gets you in the door for the lesson and three hours of social dancing. Popular among the Asian community, as well as a variety of other diverse groups and individuals, this is a great practice dance for both the beginner and accomplished dancer. We coordinate a couple of mixer songs where partners switch-off multiple times per song so everybody gets a chance to dance with someone new.

We will be playing a variety of tempos conducive to both International and American social dances such as Rumba, ChaCha, Fox Trot, Tango, Salsa and the various Swing dances. We provide a playlist guide that lists the suggested dance for each song played. This can be a helpful guide enabling beginner dancers to develop an “ear” for determining which dances are appropriate for certain styles and tempos of music.
